성경 기록에 따르면, 느보산은 모세가 임종을 앞두고 약속의 땅을 굽어보았던 장소입니다. 이 산에는 모세의 무덤이 위치한 것으로 전해지며, 이곳에서는 요르단 계곡과 사해는 물론, 날씨가 맑은 날에는 멀리 예루살렘까지 한눈에 내려다보이는 숨이 멎을 듯한 아름다운 전경을 감상할 수 있습니다.

보는 것 만으로도 경외심을 자아내는 페트라는 장밋빛 암석에 새겨진 고대 도시로, 세계 7대 불가사의 중 하나로 손꼽힙니다. 페트라에서 캠핑을 즐기며 정교하게 조각된 무덤, 신전, 원형극장 등을 탐방하면, 수천 년 전 번영을 누렸던 나바테아 문명으로의 시간 여행을 떠나는 듯한 경이로운 경험을 하게 됩니다.

“달의 계곡”이라 불리는 와디 럼은 천상의 아름다움과 더불어, 붉은 사막 풍경이 마치 화성을 연상시키는 곳으로 그 어떤 장소와도 비교할 수 없는 곳입니다. 이곳에서는 좁은 협곡과 자연적으로 형성된 아치, 우뚝 솟은 절벽, 경사로와 동굴 등을 탐험할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 캠핑, 샌드보딩, 별 관측 등 다양한 체험을 즐길 수 있습니다.

해수면보다 약 427미터 낮은 지점에 위치한 사해는 지구 상에서 가장 낮은 지대로, 자연의 경이로움을 그대로 만끽할 수 있는 곳입니다. 이곳을 찾는 방문객들은 풍부한 미네랄을 함유한 천연 진흙을 전신에 바른 후 사해의 물에서 유영할 수 있습니다.

아카바 만을 찾는 방문객들은 홍해의 아름다운 산호초를 탐험할 수 있으며, 해안가에 위치한 5성급 리조트를 비롯한 다양한 숙박시설에서 골프와 여가 활동을 즐길 수 있습니다.

요르단은 생태계의 다양성을 보존하고, 야생 동물의 서식지를 보호하는 한편, 지속 가능한 토지 이용과 천연 자원의 보전을 촉진하는 웅장한 자연 보호구역과 지정 보호 지역들을 자랑하고 있습니다. 그 대표적인 사례로, 험준한 지형을 자랑하는 다나 생물권 보호구역, 깊은 협곡이 인상적인 무집 생물권 보호구역, 그리고 울창한 삼림이 펼쳐진 아즐룬 삼림 보호구역이 있습니다.

아울러, 요르단은 세계 최고 수준의 첨단 비즈니스 인프라와 회의장을 갖추고 있어, 기업 회의, 인센티브 관광, 국제회의, 전시 등 MICE 산업의 최적지로 주목받고 있습니다. 특히, 사해 연안에 위치한 킹 후세인 컨벤션 센터는 27개의 규모별 회의장을 보유하고 있으며, 최대 3,000명 이상의 대규모 인원을 수용할 수 있는 최신 시설을 자랑합니다.

The awe-inspiring Petra is a city carved in rose colored rock. It is one of the new seven wonders of the world. Camping in Petra and exploring its intricate rock-cut tombs, temples, and amphitheater will transport you back to the Nabatean civilization which thrived over two thousand years ago.

Known as “the valley of the moon”, Wadi Rum’s ethereal beauty and planet Mars like red desert landscapes are unrivaled. Here you can enjoy extraordinary camping, sand boarding and star gazing experiences while exploring its narrow gorges, natural arches, towering cliffs, ramps and caverns.

At around 427 meters below sea level, the Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth. In this spectacular natural wonder, visitors float in the Sea’s mineral-rich healing waters after covering their bodies with its natural muds.
