      Tourism in Qatar: a promising sector to support the diversification of the economy<\/b><\/p>\n

      Tourism is a key pillar of Qatar\u2019s economy and continues to create a positive impact that contributes to the Qatar National Vision 2030. The State of Qatar\u2019s leadership has identified tourism as one of five priority sectors integral to diversifying Qatar\u2019s economy, while increasing private sector participation.<\/p>\n

      Qatar offers an enriching tourism experience by blending its authentic culture with modernity. The country has established itself as a premier, must-visit global tourist destination, providing safe and accessible tourism to all.<\/p>\n

      Qatar Tourism aims to attract six million visitors by 2030. The Tourism Strategy 2030 is built on 11 pillars, guiding Qatar\u2019s efforts to boost tourism and support the sector\u2019s advancement.<\/p>\n

      In January 2024, the third phase of the Qatar Development Strategy 2024 \u2013 2030 was announced, identifying tourism as a major sector within the economic diversification clusters entrusted with contributing to achieving sustainable economic growth.<\/p>\n

      Qatar\u2019s strategy focuses on several key areas that reflect the country\u2019s commitment to strengthening the tourism sector, such as:<\/p>\n

      • Constructing exceptional urban developments.<\/li>\n

      • Launching training programs and collaborations to enhance the tourism sector to upscale the tourism workforce in Qatar.<\/li>\n

        NDS3 centers on \u2018Growth Clusters,\u2019 which promote sustainable economic growth in manufacturing, logistics and tourism, which are considered key sectors for Qatar\u2019s non-oil economy. The tourism cluster aims to boost business tourism and capitalize on Qatar\u2019s distinct features to attract families, positioning the country as a top tourism destination.<\/p>\n

          With regard to cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Korea in the field of tourism, we point out that the Tourism Authority of the State of Qatar and the Korea Tourism Organization are currently working on drafting a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation, within the framework of diversifying cooperation between the two countries and raising it to a higher level.<\/p>\n

          This memorandum of understanding would increase exchanges at the level of mutual visits for tourists from the two countries and increase understanding between the friendly Qatari and Korean people.<\/p>\n
