In the early morning of June 13, 2025, the Israeli Air Force launched Operation Rising Lion, a surprise airstrike targeting Iran\u2019s nuclear and military facilities across the country. More than a hundred sites were attacked, including key nuclear installations in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan, as well as air defense systems, missile bases, and major command centers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Several high-ranking IRGC and military officials were reportedly killed. Simultaneously, Mossad led coordinated drone and cyber operations that effectively disabled Iran\u2019s air defense systems and communication infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Following Israel\u2019s attack on Iran and the subsequent U.S. strike on Iranian nuclear facilities under the Trump administration, the already unstable situation in the Middle East has further deteriorated. This new phase of conflict began just as expectations were rising that the Gulf states would emerge as key players in shaping a new regional order\u2014particularly following President Trump\u2019s visit to three Gulf nations in May. In this context, the inner stance of the Gulf monarchies is seen as highly complex.<\/span><\/p>\n

President Donald Trump later declared a ceasefire, claiming a successful resolution while urging restraint from both sides.<\/p>\n

On June 13, under the operation name \u201cRising Lion,\u201d Israel launched airstrikes on Iran\u2019s nuclear facilities (Natanz and Fordow), initiating a full-scale war. In response, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the attack, calling it a violation of international law and urged Israel to immediately cease its airstrikes. On June 13 and 21, after Iran launched hundreds of missiles and drones toward Israel under its \u201cTrue Promise III\u201d operation, T\u00fcrkiye expressed concern in an official statement, warning that further escalation of the conflict could lead to catastrophic consequences. From June 19 to 20, T\u00fcrkiye hosted a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul, attended by Iran\u2019s Foreign Minister.<\/p>\n
